Operates PET/CT equipment to produce scans and measures concentration of radioactive isotopes in specified body areas. Surveys packages (radioactive) for leaks and surveys “hot” laboratory and examination rooms for radioactive spills. Assures compliance with NRC regulations and other inspecting agencies. Assists in evaluation, coordination and implementing policies and procedures. Works in collaboration with referring and interpreting physicians in ordering and performing PET/CT Scans. Assists in the orientation process of new technologists and physicians. Associate’s degree or greater in Radiological Sciences or certificate from an AMA approved school. Must be registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology. 2 years in a related work situation and CPR are required. Registered by American Registry of Radiologic Technology in CT and NMTCB is preferred. |
